gyagyaygygyayayayga... i am intentionally choose that tittle not because i am going to release my first album (bgaya sok penyanyi) but because i want to share my first experience as MC. IYA! MC!!!! never comes in my mind to be a MC. you know MC?? MC is not Makan Cacing or Muka Culun ladies and gentlemen, MC stands for Master of Ceremony. a bit afraid when i heard the word MC. specially when i knew the job of MC itself: LEADING THE EVENT. beeeehhhh.... so scary! about 1,5 months ago, i was officially chosen as MC by the committees of EWD'10, i am not really sure i was chosen by the whole committees, i guess i was chosen only by the chairman and the event organizer. before that, i'd like to explain you all what is EWD. EWD stands for English Welcoming Days, it's an event which is conducted to welcome new comers of PBI. the events is systematically same with OSPEK or any other welcoming events, but we as committees have already agreed that we will avoid any kinds of abusing, torturing, etc toward the participants, so please don't think about those activity when you join this event. we couldn't feel worst if we know some of us do those bad activities. the most important thing that we really want to gain is "cooperation, respect, care, truth, and love among the students of PBI Sanata Dharma University", no matter where are you from, what races you are, and how old are you, we are a big family. we really want to avoid any kinds of communication barriers among the students. so there will be no border between the senior and junior.
back to my experience. nah guys, last Friday i lead the first event of EWD'10. you know that actually EWD is not an event which is conducted in one day but THREE DAYS (one more again to make it clear: THREE DAYS!), and the first day's event named Pre-EWD, than the rest named EWD'10 (the core event). on the first day, i felt abit bored. not only because of the participants were soooooo naughty and wild but also because the preparation. you know that there were many problems when we conducted the event.
the first one was, we were not allowed to sing loudly and using Drum. because the dean said that it would disturb other students who were studying. it was all about permit i guess, we really didn't estimate this problem would be happened when we conducted it.
the second one was about equipment problem. i was one of the victim. when i talked in front of the maba (new comers) suddenly ga da yang ngundang, ga da yang ngajak the microphone didn't work! bbbbeeehhhhhhh... bashfulnya ga keruan when i realized that what i was talking about weren't caught well by the maba.
the third one was my bad actually. hehehheheh, i didn't see the warning of conducting event when it was shown by the event organizer. why?? because i have problem with my sight, it requires me to use glasses where ever i go. but i was not wearing my glasses on the first day because i thought that it would give good impression for the maba (even though i know that it doesn't matter anything). because of that weird reason, i was being accused for the unorganized schedule event.
finally, at the end of the event (evaluation session) i conveyed my sorry to the whole committees. uuuhh...., i hope that the next event which will be conducted tomorrow will be better that the previous one. i will try my best to do my job. i just don't want to give other mistakes to the people who have chosen me as the MC. even though i don't know who they are, i just want to say "THANK YOU SO MUCH" for choosing me as the MC. this job will be in my sweet memories case's brain. may God blesses you always and your family. Amin.
